Confusion Surrounds Death of Singer Olisha M as Hospital Denies Report
KAMPALA, Uganda – The Ugandan music industry is in mourning following the tragic death of fast-rising singer Olivia Mildred Namubiru, popularly known as Olisha M. However, confusion has emerged after the medical facility initially reported as the location of her passing has officially denied the claim.
Initial reports from multiple media outlets on Saturday, October 25, 2025, stated that the singer, famed for her hit “Sina M,” died on Friday, October 24, while giving birth at Nsambya Hospital.
However, in an important clarification, the management of Nsambya Hospital has publicly refuted these reports. In a statement, the hospital expressed its condolences to the affected family but confirmed, after a thorough investigation, that the tragic incident did not occur at their facility. The hospital explicitly stated that Ms. Namubiru was not a patient there.
The news of her death was first formally announced by A-Plus Funeral Management on behalf of the family of Omulongo Babirye Sarah. The funeral notice confirmed that Namubiru Olivia Mildred passed away on Friday, October 24, but did not specify a cause of death or reaffirm the location.
According to the funeral program, a vigil is being held at the family home in Kabale-Bugonzi on Saturday, October 25. The burial is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, at 2:00 pm at the same location.
The conflicting information has left fans and the public seeking clarity on the exact circumstances of the singer’s untimely death. While the entertainment industry grieves the loss of a promising talent, the question of where she died remains officially unresolved.
