Daniella Atim Files for Divorce from Singer Jose Chameleone in U.S. Court
Kampala, Uganda – The marriage between Ugandan music star Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, and his wife Daniella Atim appears to have reached its breaking point, with Daniella filing for divorce in the United States after more than 16 years together.
According to court documents reportedly seen by Ritah Kaggwa Blog, Daniella cited years of domestic violence, heartbreak, and emotional trauma as the reasons behind her decision. She stated that she could no longer share a bed or continue in a marriage that had caused her pain and suffering.
Daniella claims that immediately after their wedding, Chameleone turned abusive, subjecting her to constant beatings until she fled to the U.S. for safety. She further revealed that since relocating to America, she has been solely responsible for raising their five children without any financial support from the singer.
In her filing, Daniella is seeking full custody of the children, child support, transfer of land titles for the couple’s mansion in Seguku–Makindye Division, and for Chameleone to meet all court costs related to the divorce proceedings.
Chameleone, through his lawyers Muwemba & Co Advocates, denied neglecting his family. He argued that he has been preoccupied with international music tours to provide for his loved ones. He also claimed to have purchased a house for Daniella in America, though sources close to Daniella allege that she acquired the property using proceeds from her late father’s assets.
The high-profile case has sparked intense debate among fans and the public, highlighting longstanding rumors of turbulence in the couple’s marriage.
Court proceedings are ongoing in the U.S., with a ruling on custody, property, and financial obligations expected in due course.
