Eddy Kenzo Declares “Final” Public Strike Against Bebe Cool Over Music Rankings Feud
A long-running rivalry between Ugandan music giants Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool has flared up once again, with Kenzo announcing this will be his last time addressing his fellow artist publicly.
The latest clash was ignited on January 1, when Bebe Cool released his annual “#BebeCoolList2025,” ranking his own album Break The Chains at number one. The list praised emerging talents like Elijah Kitaka and Joshua Baraka but notably omitted Grammy-nominated artist Eddy Kenzo.
In response, Kenzo took to social media, firing a sharp rebuke through a post shared by 100.2 Galaxy FM Zzina.
“Bebe Cool, this is my last time talking about you because I gain nothing when I talk about you, it’s you that gains,” Kenzo stated.
He expanded on his criticism in another post, shared by a fan account, accusing Bebe Cool of seeking relevance through provocation rather than musical production.
“I don’t want to waste my time with Bebecool,” Kenzo said. “All he does is wait for a trending artist then starts provoking him or her. We go to the studios and produce nice music then Bebecool comes out and starts judging like he can’t do the same, well I won’t make him relevant.”
Kenzo further challenged Bebe Cool’s credibility, pointing to his own successful year in 2025 with more live shows and higher earnings. He also took aim at Bebe Cool’s commercial track record, claiming his last major hit, Wire Wire, was released over a decade ago.
The social media post from Galaxy FM, which has garnered over 41,000 engagements, indicates significant public interest in the spat.
This public exchange is merely the latest chapter in a years-long feud between the two artists. Tensions have historically stemmed from disputes over copyright issues, allegations of event sabotage, and their differing political stances, particularly regarding support for President Yoweri Museveni.
Fans remain divided on the conflict, with many taking sides online as the two veteran artists continue their war of words. Kenzo’s declaration that this is his “last time” addressing Bebe Cool suggests an attempt to draw a line under the public aspect of their rivalry—though whether the feud continues behind the scenes remains to be seen.
