KAMPALA – The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) under the NRM was a scene of celebration and strategic dialogue this week following a courtesy visit from three accomplished women, hailed as exemplars of progress and empowerment.

The visit, which underscored the growing influence of women in national development, prompted Hajjati Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Coordinator of the ONC, to extend warm congratulations to Adrine Kobusingye, Julie, and Akwi Norah for their significant personal victories.

In a statement following the meeting, Uzeiye used a powerful metaphor to describe their journey, noting, “What began as a seed of thought has grown into a fruitful tree.” The remark celebrated the tangible results achieved from initial dreams and aspirations, positioning the women as role models for others to emulate.
The Coordinator expressed her gratitude for the visit, stating that such engagements are crucial for strengthening the collective voice of women across Uganda. She emphasized that their individual successes are not isolated events but part of a broader movement towards gender inclusivity and recognition.
“Thanks for the courtesy visit; together let’s amplify the voice of women,” Uzeiye stated, outlining a commitment to continue championing initiatives that empower women economically, socially, and politically.
Linking this empowerment directly to national stability and continued development, the ONC Coordinator also highlighted the importance of consolidating support for the current leadership. She affirmed that as women’s voices are amplified, so too should be the backing for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom she credited with creating an environment where such female achievement is possible.
“As we garner support for @KagutaMuseveni,” she said, the call was framed as a mutual effort: empowering women to strengthen the nation and supporting the leadership that facilitates that empowerment.
The meeting is seen as part of the ONC’s broader strategy to engage with successful grassroots figures, weaving their personal narratives into the larger national story of progress under the NRM government. It signals an ongoing effort to build a coalition of support for the administration ahead of the 2026 general elections, with women positioned at the forefront of this mobilization drive.
