
Kabale – The Kabale Chief Magistrate’s Court has charged and remanded a 24-year-old man who stunned worshippers in Kampala after publicly confessing to killing a woman in Kabale.
Clinton Mwesiime was arrested on August 9, 2025, after storming the pulpit at Phanero Ministries Church in Nakawa, Kampala, where he dramatically declared that he had murdered 45-year-old Leonada Kobusingye at Cheers Pub and Accommodation in Kabale.
According to church authorities, Mwesiime claimed he was seeking forgiveness from Jesus for his actions. Shocked leaders of the congregation immediately alerted police, who arrested him on the spot.
He was first detained at Jinja Road Police Station before being transferred to Kabale Central Police Station for further investigations. On appearing before the Kabale Chief Magistrate’s Court, Mwesiime was formally charged with murder and remanded.
The case has left residents in shock, with many describing the dramatic confession in church as both chilling and unusual.
