MGLSD Releases Full List of Licensed Labour Export Companies for April 2026, Warns Youth Against Rising Trafficking Scams

KAMPALA, UGANDA – April 9, 2026 – The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) has published the official register of all licensed labour export companies as of April 7, 2026, in a renewed effort to protect Ugandan youth from fraudulent recruitment schemes and human trafficking.

In a public service announcement shared widely on social media and official channels, the Ministry expressed deep concern over the increasing number of young people losing millions of shillings to unregulated agents promising jobs abroad. Many victims have come forward in distress after being abandoned at airports or left stranded in foreign countries without the promised employment.

“Many young people are losing money to traffickers and fraudulent companies. Please stay alert,” the Ministry cautioned in its statement. “Many young people cry out after being cheated.”

The Official Safeguard: Regulated Recruitment
The Ministry emphasized that only the companies appearing on the official list—which spans nearly 200 agencies from “Dream Connect Limited” to “Zono Agency Limited”—are authorized to recruit Ugandan labour for overseas markets including Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
Under the updated regulatory framework, these licensed agencies are not merely placement firms; they are legally obligated to ensure the safety and welfare of workers throughout their contracts abroad.
“These companies are responsible for following up on your safety and welfare in any workplace you are recruited to,” the MGLSD statement read. “They are fully regulated and monitored by the government through MGLSD.”
Recourse for Victims
In a significant clarification aimed at boosting accountability, the Ministry assured the public that even if a licensed company on the published list engages in malpractice or fails to secure the agreed employment, the government will intervene to recover lost funds.
“If any of the companies listed below has cheated you, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (@Mglsd_UG) will support you in recovering your money,” the announcement confirmed.
The Ministry is urging job seekers to verify the status of any recruitment agency by visiting the nearest District Labour Office or checking the official MGLSD website before making any financial commitments or surrendering travel documents.
A Call for Vigilance
The list includes familiar industry names such as Premier Recruitment Limited, Middle East Consultants, and various security and logistics firms, but the Ministry warns that fraudsters often mimic the names of legitimate companies. Citizens are advised to cross-reference business registration numbers with the physical addresses provided on the official portal.
