North Korea Condemns U.S. and Israeli Strikes on Iran as ‘Illegal Aggression’
North Korea has publicly condemned the recent joint military strikes conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran, labeling the actions a violation of national sovereignty and an “illegal aggression,” according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry on Sunday.
The statement, carried by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), criticized the military operations, which reportedly included a large-scale strike in Tehran that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The North Korean spokesperson described the U.S. military operation against Iran as predictable, attributing it to what they called the “hegemonic and gangster-like” nature of the United States. The statement declared that this “war of aggression” by the U.S. and Israel is unacceptable under any circumstances.
The condemnation comes as regional tensions have soared following Israel’s confirmation that its air force conducted widespread strikes in the heart of the Iranian capital. The development has raised international fears of broader instability spreading across the Middle East.
North Korea urged regional countries and other parties with shared interests to take responsibility for restoring peace and stability in the region.
This reaction aligns with Pyongyang’s longstanding rhetoric against U.S. foreign policy and its strategic alignment with other anti-Western nations.
