
Kampala, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has issued a formal notice for the 1st Meeting of its 4th National Conference, scheduled to take place from 27th to 28th August 2025 at the Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala. The event, themed “Building a Shared Prosperity: Investing in Uganda’s Future,” will focus on critical party elections and preparations for the 2026 presidential polls.
Key Agenda Items:
- Opening Address: The National Chairman, Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, will deliver the keynote speech.
- Secretary General’s Report: Updates on party activities and achievements will be presented.
- Leadership Elections: The conference will elect officials to the Central Executive Committee, including:
- National Chairperson
- 1st and 2nd National Vice Chairpersons (the latter reserved for a female candidate)
- Six Regional Vice Chairpersons representing East, Central, North, West, Kampala, and Karamoja.
- 2026 Presidential Candidate: The National Executive Committee will recommend a nominee for the NRM’s presidential flag bearer, with a resolution to formalize the election.
- Closing Ceremony: The event will conclude with an address by the elected 2026 candidate and the national anthem.
