
MERU, Kenya – A Catholic nun has been taken into custody by police in Meru County on suspicion of murdering a fellow sister, 65-year-old Sister Anselimina Karimi.
The arrest was made on October 12, a day after Sister Karimi was discovered dead at her residence in Nkabune. Preliminary reports indicate she was the victim of a brutal assault, with authorities noting signs of foul play at the scene.
Sister Karimi served as the administrator of a children’s home operated by the nuns. She lived and worked at the convent alongside the suspect, with whom she shared both a community and a mission.
