People’s Front for Freedom to Unveil Presidential Flag Bearers in Two Weeks
Kampala, Uganda – The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) is set to announce its presidential candidates in the next two weeks, a move that could reshape Uganda’s opposition landscape ahead of the upcoming elections.
Possible Alliance with Friendly Opposition Parties
Harold Kaija, PFF’s deputy spokesperson, revealed that while the party is preparing to present its own flag bearers, it remains open to backing a candidate from a friendly opposition party if advised by its Council of Eminent Persons.
“We are finalizing our internal processes, but we are also consulting widely. If the Council of Eminent Persons recommends supporting a strong opposition candidate from another party, we will consider it in the interest of unity and change,” Kaija stated.
Strategic Move for Opposition Unity?
The announcement has sparked speculation about possible opposition alliances, with political analysts suggesting that PFF’s decision could be a game-changer in the race. The party’s willingness to collaborate signals a potential push for a unified opposition front against the ruling establishment.
What Next?
As the countdown begins, all eyes are on PFF’s final decision—will they field their own candidate or throw their weight behind another opposition leader? The next two weeks will be crucial in determining Uganda’s political direction.
