KAMPALA, UGANDA – Ugandan police have launched a manhunt for controversial musician Alien Skin and members of his “Fungon” gang, linking them to the brutal murder of a former associate.
The incident, which occurred last Saturday in Kizungu Ndebba village, has taken a fatal turn with the death of Namuwaya Wilfred, a one-time member of the Fungon group.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the tragedy began when Alien Skin, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, allegedly ordered the abduction of Namuwaya. The musician reportedly accused Namuwaya of leaving the Fungon base without his permission.
“Alien Skin instructed one of his bodyguards, identified as Musumali, to pick Namuwaya from his home and bring him to the Fungon basement,” SSP Onyango stated. “Upon receiving orders, Musumali rushed to Namuwaya’s home, picked him like a grasshopper, and delivered him to the basement.”
Upon arrival, the situation turned violent. Police allege that Alien Skin confronted the deceased, demanding an explanation for his unauthorized departure. The confrontation was followed by a fatal command.
“Can you discipline him now such that it serves as a lesson to those who wish to leave Fungon without my consent?” Alien Skin allegedly ordered his gang.
A team of individuals then subjected Namuwaya to a severe beating that left him in critical condition. After the assault, he was reportedly taken from the basement and dumped near his home in Ndebba.
Alarmed local residents discovered Namuwaya and rushed him to Mulago Hospital for emergency treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries a day later.
Police spokesperson Onyango confirmed that Alien Skin and his gang members are now wanted to face formal charges of murder. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the suspects.
The case has cast a renewed spotlight on the musician and his Fungon group, which has been a subject of public discussion and concern.
