President Museveni Rallies Northern Uganda Support With Focus on Development and Stability
AMOLATAR & DOKOLO, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni attracted thousands of supporters on Wednesday during campaign rallies in the Amolatar and Dokolo districts, marking a significant show of force for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) as it builds momentum for the 2026 general elections.
The rallies on October 1, 2025, were part of the President’s week-long tour of the Lango sub-region, aimed at promoting the NRM’s manifesto for the 2026-2031 term. Central to his message was a call to protect the country’s achievements in infrastructure, peace, and economic development, warning against the dangers of resource mismanagement.
President Museveni was joined by high-ranking party officials, including the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, and NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong. They collectively underscored the advancements made in the region under the NRM government, specifically highlighting improvements in road networks, electricity access, and agricultural productivity.
The President had earlier taken to social media to invite supporters, posting on X, “Fellow Ugandans especially the Bazzukulu, Amoto Wun Ducu (greetings), let us meet in Amolatar & Dokolo today!”
The large turnout in the northern districts signals a concerted effort by the ruling party to consolidate support in the region ahead of the 2026 polls, with a campaign narrative firmly anchored on continuity and safeguarding developmental gains.
