Socialite Bryan White Pleads for Time to Heal, Denies Fleeing Uganda

KAMPALA – Controversial socialite and philanthropist Bryan White has issued a passionate public plea, requesting to be allowed to recover from his injuries before facing court, while firmly stating he has no intention of escaping the country.
The update was shared via a social media post that included a photograph of White receiving medical treatment, seemingly in a hospital theater for wound dressing.
In a detailed account, White described the severe pain he is enduring, claiming he “survives on painkillers” and was recently sedated with morphine for backbone pain to the extent that he “could not feel [his] legs.”
He vehemently denied accusations that his heavily bandaged appearance in court was an act, stating, “This bandage was not a pretense.”
White leveled serious allegations against the police, accusing them of contradictory actions. He claimed that while the authorities publicly stated he should heal first before facing the law, they physically “grabbed [him] out [of the] hospital” to ensure his court appearance. He alleged that this same scenario repeated itself recently, with police interrupting a medical dressing session at the hospital.
“Please understand: I cannot sit, I cannot stand,” White wrote, emphasizing his current physical incapacity.
Addressing the gravity of the charges against him, which are implied to be connected to the death of a woman, White expressed sympathy for the aggrieved family but maintained his innocence.
“I know the family of the late is aggrieved… But deep down, they know I could never harm their daughter to the extent of death,” he stated. He expressed faith that “God knows the truth, and it will come out no matter what.”
In a firm declaration aimed at quashing speculation, White assured the public of his commitment to stay in Uganda, writing, “I can never, ever run away from Uganda 🇺🇬—neda oba ki!”
Concluding his emotional post, White referenced a statement from an unnamed “Mzee” (elder), suggesting that only those in poverty would be hired to tarnish someone’s name for survival, implicitly framing himself as a victim of a smear campaign.
The post has sparked significant reactions online, with the public divided between those calling for compassion due to his health and others demanding immediate accountability through the legal process.
