MUKONO – A devastating incident at Africa Polysack Industries Ltd in Mukono on Monday left one employee dead and raised serious questions about workplace safety and corporate accountability. A forklift operator, identified as Hussein, allegedly struck and killed his colleague, Rogers Depark, during a heated disagreement, according to sources close to the matter.

The victim, Rogers Depark, served as the personal driver to the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Jackson Twinamasiko. The altercation between the two employees is said to have turned physical before Hussein reportedly used the forklift to knock down and run over Depark, resulting in fatal injuries.

An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, stated, “The disagreement escalated quickly, and Hussein used the forklift in a fit of rage. It was horrific – Rogers stood no chance.”
In the aftermath of the tragedy, family members of the deceased have accused the company’s management of attempting to cover up the incident. A relative of Depark claimed, “We believe the management is trying to sweep this under the rug. They have not been transparent with us, and we fear the truth may never come out.”
Police are actively investigating the case, and Hussein is currently in custody. However, no official statement has been released by Africa Polysack Industries Ltd regarding the incident or the allegations of a cover-up.
The tragedy has sparked outrage among workers and community members, who are calling for justice and improved safety measures within industrial workplace.
