Uganda Airlines Suspends Dubai Flights Due to Airspace Closure
ENTEBBE, UGANDA – Uganda Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of its scheduled flights between Entebbe International Airport (EBB) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) effective immediately.
In a statement released to the public on Saturday, the national carrier confirmed that the disruption is due to an airspace closure, forcing the airline to halt operations on the route until further notice.
“We wish to inform its esteemed guests and the general public of the temporary suspension of its scheduled flights,” the statement read. The airline emphasized that the situation is beyond their control but assured passengers that they are working to minimize disruptions.
Assistance for Stranded Passengers
Uganda Airlines has outlined several remedies for passengers holding confirmed bookings on the affected flights. Travelers are being offered rebooking options on alternative carriers where possible, or they may reschedule onto future Uganda Airlines flights at no additional cost once normal operations resume.
Passengers who wish to alter their plans are also permitted to make flexible changes to a later date.
Communication and Next Steps
The airline has activated its passenger communication channels, stating that they are reaching out to affected customers directly via phone and email with details regarding revised travel arrangements. Those who booked through travel agents are advised to contact their agents directly for assistance.
“We urge all passengers scheduled to travel on this route to check their flight status on our official website, www.ugandairlines.com, or contact our call center before departing for the Airport,” the statement added.
Uganda Airlines apologized for the inconvenience caused, stating, “We sincerely regret the disruption to your travel plans and appreciate your understanding as we navigate this situation beyond our control.”
The airline has promised to provide further updates once the airspace reopens and normal scheduling resumes.
