UK-Based Doctor Fredrick Mukungu Albert Vies for Entebbe Parliamentary Seat
ENTEBBE, UGANDA – The political landscape in Entebbe Municipality has been invigorated with the official nomination of Dr. Fredrick Mukungu Albert, who has returned to Uganda after over two decades in the United Kingdom to contest for the Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 general elections.
Dr. Mukungu, who will be running on an independent ticket, was formally nominated by the Electoral Commission this week. The successful medical professional and businessman has set his sights on representing the people of Entebbe for the 2026-2031 term.
Upon his nomination, Dr. Mukungu made a passionate pledge to the electorate. He committed to providing what he termed “premium leadership” and vowed to work tirelessly to transform the municipality. His central campaign promise is to mould Entebbe into “a powerful city of opportunities, growth, and sustainability” should he emerge victorious in the polls.
The candidate brings a significant profile of financial success and business acumen to the race. With an estimated net worth of Shs 10 billion, Dr. Mukungu has already demonstrated a substantial belief in Entebbe’s economy through heavy investment in the local real estate sector over the years. His investments are seen as a long-term commitment to the area’s development, even while he was residing abroad.
His decision to enter the political fray as an independent candidate underscores a campaign strategy that seeks to appeal directly to the electorate, free from party affiliations. Supporters suggest that his international exposure, combined with his deep-rooted local investments, positions him as a unique candidate capable of bridging global best practices with grassroots needs.
As the campaign trail begins to heat up, all eyes will be on Entebbe Municipality to see if Dr. Mukungu’s message of premium leadership and sustainable development will resonate with voters come 2026.
