A Son of the Soil: Councilor Twaha Kikomeko Kilyankusa’s Enduring Service to Entebbe
In the heart of every community, there are names that transcend mere identification—they become synonymous with service, trust, and unwavering respect. In the vibrant lakeside town of Entebbe, that name is Twaha Kikomeko Kilyankusa.
A true son of Entebbe, Twaha’s profound passion for community development was ignited in his youth. He grew up not merely as an observer of his village’s struggles but as someone who felt a deep-seated responsibility to be the catalyst for change. This early commitment has, over the years, crystallized into an impeccable reputation. In the wards of Nakiwogo and Lugonjo, his presence at any gathering—be it cultural, social, or political—is met with honor and acknowledgment. To his constituents, he is far more than a council member; he is a beloved son of the soil who has remained firmly rooted in the community that raised him.
His academic journey, which began at St. Theresa’s Primary School, laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He continued his secondary education at Entebbe Parents, Wakataayi SS in Luwero District, and Nile College SS for his A’ Levels. It was at Uganda Christian University in Nkozi, however, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, that his vision for empathetic and effective leadership was truly sharpened and refined.
Today, Twaha Kikomeko Kilyankusa serves with distinction as the Council Member for Lugonjo/Nakiwogo at the Entebbe Municipal Council. In a testament to his diligence and expertise, he also chairs the influential Works Committee—a role that has empowered him to transform campaign promises into tangible action for his people.
His record of service speaks with a clarity that words alone cannot capture:
· Education: He has been a steadfast supporter of education, providing crucial bursaries to school children. His interventions have kept countless young minds in classrooms who might otherwise have been forced to drop out.
· Water Access: Understanding the critical need for clean water, he has successfully lobbied for the installation of boreholes, bringing safe, clean water closer to hundreds of families.
· Infrastructure: He has been a champion for improved infrastructure, tirelessly advocating for and overseeing the enhancement of murrum roads in Kiwafu Ward, thereby significantly easing the daily movement of residents.
Pride of Entebbe celebrates Twaha Kikomeko Kilyankusa for his hands-on service—for being a leader who not only speaks up for his people but also works alongside them. He embodies a rare blend of visionary leadership and grassroots connection.
To the community of Nakiwogo and Lugonjo, Twaha is more than a political figure. He is a living example of what it means to serve with heart, to lead with humility, and to never forget the people who gave you your foundation. His story continues to inspire, reminding us all of the power of dedicated public service.
