

Mbuya, Kampala — The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, on Friday led mourners in a solemn funeral service for the late James Musinguzi Garuga at his residence in Mbuya.

The service drew a host of dignitaries, including former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, former Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, former Attorney General William Byaruhanga, and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, who was accompanied by his deputy. Other political leaders and community members were also in attendance to pay their respects.

Archbishop Kaziimba, in his sermon, called on mourners to honour the legacy of the late Garuga by living lives marked by service, integrity, and compassion. The congregation joined together in prayer and hymns, reflecting on Garuga’s life and contributions.
The late James Musinguzi Garuga was remembered as a respected figure whose influence extended across business, public service, and community development.
