Dar es Salaam, August 2, 2025 — The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has arrived in Tanzania for the official opening of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024.
The highly anticipated tournament officially kicks off today and will run from August 2 to 30, taking place across three East African nations: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Dr. Motsepe is expected to preside over the opening ceremony in Dar es Salaam, underscoring CAF’s commitment to strengthening football partnerships and development across the continent. His visit highlights the significance of the tournament not just as a sporting event, but also as a symbol of regional unity and progress.
