KAMPALA – The High Court has issued a mixed ruling in the long-running divorce case between Pastor John Mulinde and his former wife, Sheilah, ordering the clergyman to pay his ex-wife Shs 35 million as compensation for the years she spent in the marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot on January 22, 2004, saw their marriage collapse bitterly in 2015 amid mutual accusations of infidelity. The legal battle has since exposed deeply personal allegations from both sides.
While the court granted Sheilah financial compensation, the ruling also placed significant demands on her. Justice [Judge’s Name, if available] ordered Sheilah to cease using the Mulinde surname on all her official documents. The order extends to the children she reportedly had with other men during the course of the marriage, who must also have the surname removed.
Furthermore, the court issued a specific injunction against Sheilah, prohibiting her from making public statements that “tarnish” Pastor Mulinde’s reputation. This directive directly references allegations that Sheilah has been spreading, including the claim that the pastor engaged in specific, unconventional sexual acts during their marriage.
The ruling attempts to bring a legal conclusion to the acrimonious split, providing financial redress to the ex-wife while seeking to protect the public image of Pastor Mulinde, a known religious figure. Both parties have been ordered to comply with the court’s conditions, potentially drawing a line under a dispute that has lasted nearly a decade.
