

Juba – Deputy Foreign Minister Akuei Bona Malwal has met with the Ambassador of the European Union to South Sudan, H.E. Timo Olkkonen, during a farewell visit marking the end of the diplomat’s tenure in the country.
During the meeting, Malwal expressed appreciation for Ambassador Olkkonen’s contributions to strengthening relations between South Sudan and the European Union. He commended the outgoing envoy for his commitment to supporting peace, development, and humanitarian initiatives in the country.
Ambassador Olkkonen thanked the government and people of South Sudan for their cooperation and hospitality throughout his service. He reaffirmed the EU’s continued partnership with South Sudan in promoting stability and economic growth.
The farewell visit underscored the strong diplomatic ties between South Sudan and the European Union, with both sides pledging to build on the achievements made during Olkkonen’s tenure.
