DAR ES SALAAM – A public family rift has once again surfaced between Bongo Flavor superstar Diamond Platnumz and his father, Mr. Abdul Juma, with the latter accusing his multi-millionaire son of abandonment and hatred.
In a recent interview with Tanzania’s Ijumaa newspaper, Juma expressed deep hurt, claiming that the award-winning musician has refused to acknowledge or appreciate him while he is still alive. He warned that his son would live to regret this neglect after he passes away.
“I know Diamond hates me so much. And this is fueled the more because I am still alive. After I die, he will be troubled. He would wish I was alive, but I would be long gone,” Juma told the publication.
The root of the conflict lies in Diamond Platnumz’s childhood. The “Kwangwaru” hitmaker has consistently declined to recognize Juma as his father, citing that he allegedly abandoned him and his mother when Diamond was just four years old.
Despite Diamond’s immense wealth and global fame, Juma lamented that his son has failed to offer him any financial assistance.
“He has failed to assist me financially despite being a millionaire,” Juma stated, highlighting the stark contrast between his son’s public success and their private estrangement.
This is not the first time Abdul Juma has publicly voiced these grievances, pointing to a long-standing and unresolved family dispute that continues to play out in the media. Diamond Platnumz has yet to publicly respond to his father’s latest comments.
