Entebbe International Airport has registered its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic, handling 230,577 travelers in July 2025, according to figures released by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).

The record-breaking numbers included 119,127 arrivals and 111,450 departures, averaging 7,437 passengers daily. Notably, arrivals exceeded departures during the month, reflecting an uptick in inbound travel.
The previous peak was recorded in December 2024, when the airport handled 222,301 passengers, with an average of 7,171 travelers per day.

Authorities attribute the July 2025 surge to a combination of factors, including the arrival of delegations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), intensified tourism promotion campaigns, international conferences hosted in Uganda, and enhanced airline connectivity linking Entebbe to more destinations.
On the cargo front, Entebbe International Airport handled a total of 5,863 metric tonnes in July, comprising 3,961 tonnes of exports and 1,902 tonnes of imports.
Aviation analysts say the milestone underscores Ugandaโs growing role as a regional hub for both passenger and cargo traffic, and reflects the broader rebound of the air transport sector.
