In her first public statement since the tragic death of her husband, Erika Kirk has shared a poignant video on Instagram of conservative activist Charlie Kirk telling their young daughter the story of how her parents met and fell in love.
The video, posted on Wednesday, shows Charlie Kirk sitting with their daughter at the New York City burger joint where the couple first met in 2018. In the clip, which Erika described as “my favorite love story,” he is heard gently explaining their beginning, which led to their marriage in 2021.
The post serves as a touching tribute following Charlie Kirk’s fatal shooting on September 10, 2025. He was killed during a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Twenty-two-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. The FBI is currently investigating the shooting, with probes into possible motives tied to political violence.
In her caption, Erika Kirk pledged to continue her late husband’s work with the conservative student organization, Turning Point USA. A memorial service is planned to be held in Arizona, where the organization is headquartered, as widespread tributes from supporters and colleagues continue to pour in.
The video has since garnered an outpouring of support and condolences from followers online.
