Family Denies Rumors of Baby Gloria’s Marriage Crisis
Kampala, Uganda – The family of Ugandan gospel singer Baby Gloria has moved swiftly to dispel widespread social media rumors claiming her marriage to Jonas Mbaleka is collapsing.
Speculation went viral over the weekend, alleging that Mbaleka was secretly involved with the singer’s sister, Jolly Mirembe Ssenyonjo. The claims were reportedly ignited by a post from blogger Rita Kaggwa, who asserted that Baby Gloria had discovered private WhatsApp messages between her husband and sister, in which Jolly supposedly referred to herself as a “co-wife.”
In a strong rebuttal on Monday night, Jolly Mirembe dismissed the allegations. In a social media post, she stated: “If I had her man I would be with her man now. Munzijeko akajanja,” loosely telling critics to stop spreading nonsense.
The rumor stirred intense debate online, with some fans recalling that Baby Gloria had jokingly called her sister a “co-wife” during wedding celebrations. However, many supporters urged caution, noting the lack of direct confirmation from the couple.
Neither Baby Gloria nor Jonas Mbaleka has publicly addressed the speculation. The couple was last seen together in photos shared on January 12, appearing relaxed and smiling during a lunch date—a detail that has further cast doubt on the breakup narrative.
The singer’s fan base remains divided, though the family’s intervention appears to have calmed initial concerns.
