

Bunamwaya, August 15, 2025 – Friends, family, and well-wishers gathered today at Bunamwaya Catholic Church to honor the memory of celebrated journalist and political commentator Joseph Tamale Mirundi, who passed away on August 15, 2024.

The memorial service was attended by several close friends, who joined the family in offering prayers for the late Mirundi’s soul. The Mass was led by the parish priest, who guided the congregation in a solemn celebration of life and remembrance.

In a show of support, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni sent a condolence contribution of UGX 30 million to aid in the organization of the memorial ceremony. The donation was delivered by Presidential Assistant Farouk Kirunda.
During the event, the family officially announced plans to construct the Tamale Mirundi Plaza, a building that will be erected along the Masaka Road in his honor. In support of the project, [name of attendee] and family donated 100 bags of cement to help kickstart the construction.
