Galatasaray Complete €35M Signing of Ivorian Defender Wilfried Singo
ISTANBUL — Turkish Süper Lig champions Galatasaray have finalized the signing of Ivorian international Wilfried Singo from AS Monaco in a deal worth up to €35 million, the club announced.
The 24-year-old versatile defender, who can play both as a center-back and a right-back, has agreed to personal terms after initial negotiations. The transfer structure includes a €30 million base fee with additional performance-related add-ons.
Singo’s arrival is seen as a significant coup for head coach Okan Buruk, who has been seeking a dynamic and adaptable defender to enhance his tactical options. The Ivorian’s versatility fits perfectly into Buruk’s strategy of building a flexible and robust defensive line.
The move underscores Galatasaray’s ambition to build on their recent domestic title success and make a deeper impact in European competitions this season. Singo is expected to join the squad immediately as the team prepares for its upcoming league and continental fixtures.
