Media personality Haffy Powers has launched a scathing attack on musician Eddy Kenzo and Dr. Hamza Ssebunya over their recent public displays of camaraderie, describing their actions as “stupid” and “pretentious.”
Kenzo, the BET Award-winning star, and Hamza, who is married to singer Rema Namakula, have in recent weeks been spotted together at major events, sparking heated debates on social media.
During veteran artist Halima Namakula’s concert at Serena Hotel in Kampala, the two men shared the same stage, exchanging praises about each other’s character and friendship. The show of unity was repeated at Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s concert, where Rema openly hugged both Kenzo and Minister Phiona Nyamutooro, further fueling public discussions.
But Haffy Powers has expressed strong disapproval, insisting that the two can never be genuine friends and are instead putting on a performance for the cameras.
“You are acting stupid; you Kenzo and Hamza are doing very stupid things,” she said. “How can you start acting as if it’s all good between you? That’s stupidity. We know there’s natural enmity. Hugging publicly is a waste of time. You can always cooperate for the good of the child who is under Hamza’s care, but you can never be friends.”
Her remarks have since sparked another wave of online reactions, with some netizens agreeing that Kenzo and Hamza’s friendliness looks forced, while others have praised the two for setting an example of maturity and co-existence despite their complicated past.
