
Immigration Enforcement Team Apprehends 48 Irregular Immigrants in Wandegeya
Wandegeya, Kampala — Uganda’s immigration enforcement team has today apprehended 48 foreign nationals in Wandegeya found to be living in the country without proper immigration documentation.
According to officials, the individuals arrested hail from China, Somalia, Sudan, Chad, and South Sudan. They are currently undergoing processing for prosecution in accordance with national immigration laws.
During the same operation, 97 other foreign nationals were screened and found to be compliant with immigration regulations.
Authorities have reiterated their call for all foreign nationals residing in Uganda to regularize their stay by applying for the appropriate immigration facilities through the official online portal: visas.immigration.go.ug.
The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control emphasized its commitment to ensuring lawful migration while welcoming those who comply with the country’s legal framework.
