Kawempe Muslim SS Expels Over 70 Students Amid Allegations of “Bizarre Acts” and Unrest

KAMPALA – Kawempe Muslim Secondary School is reeling from a major crisis following the mass expulsion of more than 70 students accused of engaging in what school authorities have termed “bizarre and shameful acts.”
The decisive action was taken by the newly appointed school head, Hajjat Zulaika Kibirige, in a bid to root out a vice that has caused alarm within the institution, which is operated on strict Arabic religious norms.
The expulsions come on the heels of a violent incident a week ago that saw police fire gunshots to quell a student riot. According to sources, the unrest erupted when a group of students resorted to mob justice against their peers who had been nabbed for alleged involvement in the “strange, weird, bizarre and shameful acts.” The situation escalated rapidly, rattling local residents and requiring police intervention to restore calm.
Insiders suggest the alleged behaviours, which some have likened to the lifestyle of popular TikToker Katongole, also known as “Chicken Chicken,” were deemed completely incompatible with the school’s religious and moral ethos.
In a sweeping crackdown, Hajjat Zulaika Kibirige did not only expel the accused Senior Three boys at the center of the scandal but also extended the punishment to their “friends, associates, and relatives” enrolled at the school.
The school administration has confirmed that the over 70 students have been sent home indefinitely, pending a final solution to eradicate the reported vice. This move underscores the new school head’s zero-tolerance stance on behaviour she perceives as a threat to the institution’s disciplinary and moral standards.
Authorities are now working to stabilize the school environment and prevent further outbreaks of violence as they investigate the matter fully.
