King Charles Formally Removes Prince Andrew’s Royal Titles and Evicts Him from Windsor Home

BUCKINGHAM PALACE – In an unprecedented move, King Charles III has formally stripped Prince Andrew of his royal styles, titles, and honours, effectively removing him from the core working structure of the monarchy.

A statement from Buckingham Palace, released on Thursday, 30th October 2025, announced the immediate action. The Duke of York will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The palace also confirmed his eviction from his long-term home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. The statement noted that his lease on the property had previously provided him “legal protection to continue in residence,” but that “formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease.” He is expected to relocate to alternative private accommodation on the Sandringham estate.
These severe censures are a direct response to the prince’s association with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the subsequent civil suit allegations brought by survivor Virginia Giuffre.
“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of abuse,” the palace stated, emphasizing a stance of accountability.
The palace added that these actions were “deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” signalling a firm break between the institution of the monarchy and the beleaguered prince.
