KAMPALA, UGANDA – A memorial service in honor of the late former Prime Minister of Kenya, the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, will be held at the All Saints Cathedral in Kampala on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The solemn ceremony, which is set to commence at 9:00 a.m., will be led and conducted by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.
The service was announced and communicated by Captain Mike Mukula, a prominent figure in Ugandan politics and the National Resistance Movement (NRM). The announcement extends an open invitation to the public to attend and pay their respects, underscoring the cross-border impact and the deep respect held for the veteran Kenyan opposition leader across East Africa.
Holding a memorial of this scale in Uganda highlights the late leader’s significant influence and the strong political and personal relationships he forged throughout the region. The service is expected to draw dignitaries, officials, and mourners from both Uganda and Kenya to commemorate his life and legacy.
The choice of All Saints Cathedral, a central and prestigious place of worship in Uganda’s capital, and the officiation by the Archbishop, point to the high profile and importance of this memorial event.
