Museveni Decries Rampant Corruption, Says Government System is ‘Dead’
President Yoweri Museveni has expressed deep frustration over rampant corruption, warning that the government system is “dead” because graft has become a daily occurrence — even within his own compound at State House.
Speaking candidly, Museveni revealed that he often learns about corrupt activities from his daughter, Natasha, rather than through official government channels. He said this reflects a breakdown in the system meant to monitor and prevent such misconduct.
The President’s remarks underscore growing concerns about the scale and persistence of corruption in Uganda, and come amid increasing public calls for stronger accountability measures across all levels of government.
