Popular Ugandan musician Douglas Mayanja, widely known by his stage name Weasel Manizo, was reportedly hospitalized following an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred after a domestic dispute with his partner, Sandra Teta.
Sources close to the family revealed that the altercation between the couple escalated late Tuesday evening before the singer was allegedly struck by a vehicle under unclear circumstances. He was rushed to a medical facility in Kampala, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Details surrounding the incident remain scanty, and it is not yet clear whether the vehicle was driven intentionally or if the incident was accidental. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Weasel, who rose to fame as part of the dynamic duo Radio & Weasel, has been in the spotlight for both his musical achievements and a series of personal controversies. Sandra Teta, a Rwandan socialite and businesswoman, has previously been linked to public disputes with the musician, some of which drew concern from fans and advocacy groups.
