Muslim World League Condemns Israeli Settlers’ Forced Entry into Al-Aqsa Mosque
Makkah, Saudi Arabia – The Muslim World League (MWL) has issued a strong condemnation following an incident in which hundreds of Israeli settlers, accompanied by officials and protected by security forces, forcibly entered the courtyards of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The MWL described the act as a blatant violation of Islamic sanctities and a provocation to Muslims worldwide.
In a statement released by its General Secretariat, the MWL emphasized that such actions by Israeli occupation authorities represent a continued assault on holy sites and risk inflaming tensions. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced the incident as a grave violation and warned of the dangerous consequences of repeated transgressions.
“The ongoing violations by the occupation authorities not only disrespect the sanctity of Islamic holy sites but also threaten to escalate instability in the region,” the statement read. The MWL called for immediate international intervention to halt such provocations and protect the rights of Muslims to worship freely at their sacred sites.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque, located in Jerusalem, is one of the holiest sites in Islam and has long been a flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The MWL’s statement underscores growing concerns over the erosion of religious freedoms and the potential for further unrest.
The League urged global leaders to take decisive action to prevent further violations and uphold the sanctity of religious spaces for all faiths.
