NRM Leadership Vows to Paint Kasese “Fully Yellow” in Upcoming Elections

KAMPALA – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has declared its intention to secure a decisive victory in Kasese District, with senior party officials vowing that the region will be “fully yellow come January.”

The bold declaration was made following a strategic meeting held at the Office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament this afternoon. The meeting, convened by the Deputy Speaker, brought together political leaders and senior citizens from Kasese District to formulate a plan to galvanise support for the ruling party.
A central point of discussion was the critical need for reconciliation and unity among NRM members in the district. Leaders at the meeting underscored this internal cohesion as the essential foundation for achieving their shared objective.
“We discussed several strategies that will, no doubt, lead us to success as a party,” a statement from the meeting’s hosts read. “We underscored the importance of reconciliation and unity among NRM members as a foundation for achieving our shared goal of turning the district completely yellow, and we mean it.”
The ambition is for a comprehensive NRM sweep across all levels of local government. The strategy aims to secure victory “from the LCIs all the way to our presidential candidate,” indicating a top-to-bottom electoral dominance in the district.
The meeting signals a intensified effort by the NRM to consolidate its support in the western Ugandan district ahead of the general elections in January 2021. The phrase “fully yellow” leaves no room for doubt about the party’s determination to claim Kasese as a stronghold.
