Ntare School Students Stage Violent Protest Over Homosexuality Allegations
Ntare School headteacher, Saul Rwamporo, has confirmed a violent protest on Sunday morning in which students targeted four fellow learners suspected of engaging in homosexuality.
According to Rwamporo, the unrest began when a group of students confronted the alleged offenders. Two of the accused fled, prompting the mob to turn on the head prefect, accusing him of concealing other names linked to the matter.
One fleeing student sustained injuries during the chaos, while two others were rescued by the school administration. Police were quickly called in to restore order.
The violent outburst also resulted in property damage, with windows smashed in several school buildings, including the deputy headteacher’s office and the staffroom.
Authorities have not disclosed whether any arrests were made, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.
