Kampala – A much-publicized crusade led by Kenyan preacher Pastor Ezekiel Odero in Uganda has ended in disappointment, with reports showing a poor turnout despite widespread promotion.
Pastor Ezekiel, whose visit was endorsed in televised adverts by Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral, had promised miraculous healings for those who attended. However, videos circulating online show sparsely filled grounds from the first day of the event, raising questions about the level of support for the man of God.
The crusade’s struggles were compounded by heavy rains, which further discouraged attendance. The situation was made worse when Bwaise-based Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga openly preached against Pastor Ezekiel, accusing him of complicity in the deaths of more than 300 Kenyan believers linked to controversial church practices.
Following the poor reception, Pastor Ezekiel was seen in videos cursing Satan, blaming the spiritual opposition for the event’s failure.
The development highlights growing divisions within sections of Uganda’s Pentecostal community, where rivalries and accusations of misconduct continue to surface around visiting international preachers.
