KAMPALA – The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the dismissal and subsequent remand of ASP Nsiima Clive following a viral social media video showing him assaulting a female attendant at a Shell petrol station in Kyanja.
The incident, which occurred on October 6, 2025, sparked public outrage after the clip circulated online. In the video, ASP Nsiima is seen slapping the attendant while allegedly stating, “I can slap you and tomorrow we go to court and nothing happens.”
Contrary to his alleged boast, swift legal and disciplinary actions were taken. According to a police press release dated October 13, the officer was apprehended and detained immediately after the incident.
He first appeared before the police disciplinary court on October 7 and October 10, where he was charged with “behaving in a scandalous manner.” The court recommended the maximum sentence of dismissal from the Force.
In a further development, ASP Nsiima was today produced before the criminal court at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on charges of assault and threatening violence. The court remanded him to prison as proceedings continue.
The Uganda Police Force, in its statement, strongly condemned the officer’s actions. It reiterated its commitment to “uphold discipline within its ranks” and pledged to take action against any unprofessional conduct by its officers.
This case has been closely watched by the public, with many seeing the swift dismissal and criminal charges as a significant step in holding law enforcement officers accountable for their actions.
