Railways Spokesperson Dismisses Claims of Free Train Service for Uganda Cranes Fans
The Uganda Railways Corporation has clarified that the train service from Namanve will not be free for Uganda Cranes supporters, contrary to earlier announcements by the CHAN Local Organising Committee.
Speaking to the press, Railways spokesperson John Linonn Ssengendo said passengers will be required to pay the standard fare, stressing that no arrangement had been made to subsidise transport for fans attending the tournament matches.
Ssengendo urged the public to disregard misleading information and plan their travel accordingly, adding that official updates on train schedules and fares will be communicated directly by the Uganda Railways Corporation.
The clarification comes as football enthusiasts prepare to cheer on the national team in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) fixtures.
