South Sudan Soldiers Invade Ugandan Village, Burn Houses
Armed soldiers from the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) have once again crossed into Ugandan territory, this time targeting a village located roughly one kilometre inside the country.
According to local reports, the incursion resulted in several houses being set ablaze, leaving affected residents displaced and in fear for their safety. The renewed violation of Uganda’s territorial integrity marks yet another flare-up in a series of cross-border tensions between the two countries.
Authorities in the affected area are yet to confirm whether there were any casualties during the attack. The motive behind the latest incursion remains unclear, although such incidents have in the past been linked to unresolved border disputes and resource competition along the Uganda–South Sudan frontier.
Ugandan security agencies have not yet issued an official statement, but community leaders are urging the government to take swift diplomatic and security measures to prevent further violations.
This latest attack adds to growing concern among residents of border districts, who say repeated SSPDF incursions have disrupted livelihoods and undermined security in the region.
