WASHINGTON —President Donald Trump has announced that Dan Scavino, a longtime loyalist and his current deputy chief of staff, will take over the leadership of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.
The move was announced by Trump in a post on his social media platform. In the announcement, he stated that Scavino will lead the office “in addition to remaining Deputy Chief of Staff.”
Scavino will be replacing Sergio Gor, who held the position. Trump praised Gor’s performance, stating he “did a wonderful job in that position.” Gor is slated to become the U.S. Ambassador to India, a nomination that is pending Senate confirmation.
The White House Presidential Personnel Office is a critical agency within the executive branch, responsible for vetting and selecting thousands of political appointees across the federal government. In his post, Trump emphasized the significance of the role, noting that Scavino “will be responsible for the selection and appointment of almost all positions in government, a very big and important position.”
Dan Scavino is one of Trump’s most enduring aides, having worked with him since the 1990s. His appointment to this powerful role underscores a continued reliance on trusted inner-circle figures to ensure personnel decisions align closely with the administration’s agenda.
