WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump has installed a new exhibit of presidential portraits in the White House’s West Wing, drawing immediate attention for its unconventional representation of President Joe Biden.
The display, located in the colonnade near the Rose Garden, features black-and-white photographs of several former presidents, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Multiple portraits of Trump himself are also included. However, instead of a standard photograph of Biden, the exhibit displays an image of an autopen—a mechanical device used to replicate a signature.
Trump has frequently criticized Biden’s use of the autopen for signing official documents, such as pardons and executive orders, suggesting an over-reliance on the machine. The portrait substitution is seen as a direct visual link to these claims.
The installation, which Trump has dubbed the “Presidential Wall of Fame,” was quickly highlighted on social media. Commentator Nick Sortor posted on X, President Trump has just unveiled the Presidential Wall of Fame at the White House, and Joe Biden’s portrait is an AUTO-PEN.”
