Nairobi, July 30, 2025 — Two individuals affiliated with the controversial ‘Fighting Brutality and Impunity’ (FBI) movement have been arrested as security agencies intensify investigations into the group’s suspected links to terrorism.
Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, one of the founding members of the movement, was apprehended in a coordinated police operation along Lang’ata Road. He was arraigned today at the Kahawa Law Courts, where he faced multiple charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012, including unlawful possession of a firearm. Osoi is currently detained at Muthaiga Police Station, pending a court decision on whether to grant custodial orders, expected on July 31, 2025.
In a separate but related operation, detectives also arrested Jackson Kuria Kihara, popularly known as Cop Shakur, in Kahawa West. He was reportedly found wearing a red beret emblazoned with the ‘FBI’ insignia. Kihara is set to appear before the Kahawa Law Courts tomorrow to face charges similar to those levelled against Osoi.
Authorities have not disclosed the full extent of the evidence linking the FBI group to terrorist activity, but investigations are ongoing. The arrests mark a significant turn in the government’s crackdown on movements suspected of promoting violence or subversion under the guise of activism.
