Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Tees Off Aviation Week with Senior Golf Tournament

ENTEBBE, December 3, 2025 – The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has announced its continued partnership with the Uganda Senior’s Golfing Association (USGA) for the annual Uganda Senior’s Golf Tournament, set for December 6-7, 2025, at the Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.
The tournament is a highlight of the local celebrations for the global Aviation Week, observed in the first week of December each year. This week commemorates the historic signing of the Chicago Convention on December 7, 1944, which led to the creation of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, UCAA’s Ag. Director General, Ms. Olive Birungi Lumonya, emphasized the synergy between the event and the aviation community. “Our partnership with the senior golfers is a natural fit. Many of these distinguished players are frequent fliers and key users of the services and facilities at Entebbe International Airport,” she stated. “This event allows us to engage with them in a relaxed setting as we collectively celebrate a pivotal week for global aviation.”

This year marks a significant milestone as it represents the tenth consecutive year of collaboration between UCAA and the USGA, underscoring a sustained commitment to fostering relationships within the community of seasoned travelers and sports enthusiasts.
Aviation Week is a period dedicated to reflecting on the achievements, safety, and innovation within the air transport sector worldwide. By sponsoring the senior golf tournament, UCAA aims to bring visibility to the week’s significance while promoting social interaction and healthy activity among a key stakeholder group.
The two-day tournament is expected to draw a competitive field of senior golfers from across the country.
