Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has been recognised for its impactful community support, receiving the “Outstanding Contribution to Safe Motherhood Award” at the prestigious 5th National Safe Motherhood Awards.
The honour was bestowed upon URSB at an awards ceremony held this evening, an event organised by the Ministry of Health Uganda (@MinofHealthUG) and its partners to celebrate excellence and significant impact in promoting safe motherhood practices across the country.
This national recognition follows URSB’s 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative: a substantial donation to the Kawempe National Referral Hospital. The contribution was specifically directed towards supporting safe deliveries and essential child care services at the facility.
The initiative is a cornerstone of URSB’s annual CSR programme, demonstrating the Bureau’s commitment to driving positive social change beyond its core mandate. The programme is strategically aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
By supporting critical healthcare infrastructure, URSB actively contributes to the Government of Uganda’s efforts to enhance maternal and child healthcare services and reduce the national maternal mortality rate.
The award underscores the powerful impact of public-private partnerships in addressing key national challenges. URSB’s commitment to corporate citizenship showcases how organisations can play a pivotal role in building a healthier, more sustainable future for all Ugandans.
