A Sea of Pink: RSCE Staff Unite in Tribute for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
ENTEBBE, Uganda – Today, the UN Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE) was awash with a powerful shade of pink—transforming it from a mere colour into a vibrant symbol of love, strength, and collective hope.
In a moving display of solidarity, staff members gathered for a series of commemorative activities to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event, which brought together personnel from across the centre, served as a poignant reminder of the cause that touches millions of lives worldwide.
The afternoon featured a unified group photo, a visible testament to the RSCE community’s commitment, followed by a heartfelt candle-making tribute. This act provided a moment of quiet reflection to honour colleagues, family members, and friends who have been lost to the disease, and to show support for those who are currently fighting their battle.
“October reminds us that every story matters, and every voice counts,” expressed one of the event organizers. The gathering was not only about raising awareness but also about fostering a supportive community where individuals are seen and heard.
The event concluded with a sense of shared purpose and unity. “Thank you to everyone who lit up the base with your presence and your spirit,” the organizers added, acknowledging the participants whose energy made the tribute a truly hopeful and strengthening experience.
