Doha, August 8, 2025 – Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s decision to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, warning that the move could worsen the humanitarian crisis in the region and derail efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar described the decision as a “dangerous escalation” with potentially catastrophic consequences for civilians. The ministry urged the international community to intervene immediately, emphasizing the need to hold Israel accountable for its violations of international humanitarian law, including the alleged use of starvation as a weapon of war.
Qatar called on global leaders to ensure unimpeded access to humanitarian aid in Gaza and reiterated its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. The statement reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also highlighted the urgency of opposing Israel’s actions, which it said undermine international resolutions and prolong the suffering of Palestinian civilians. Qatar’s stance aligns with its ongoing diplomatic efforts to mediate in the conflict and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
