
Saudi Crown Prince Leads Eid al-Fitr Prayers at Grand Mosque in Makkah
MAKKAH — Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on March 20, 2026, corresponding to Shawwal 1, 1447 AH, marking the end of Ramadan.
He was joined by a gathering of princes, senior officials, and worshippers at Islam’s holiest site, where vast crowds filled the mosque’s courtyards and the area surrounding the Kaaba. The Crown Prince was pictured wearing a traditional white thobe and shemagh inside the mosque’s ornate halls, which overlook the packed plaza below.
Following the prayers, the Crown Prince received well-wishes from officials and dignitaries before hosting a breakfast banquet. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman also conveyed a message to the nation, emphasizing peace and stability on the occasion.
The Festival of Breaking the Fast ushers in a period of national holidays and celebrations across the Kingdom, underscoring the leadership’s role in upholding Islamic traditions.
