Alien Skin Appeals to CDF Muhoozi After Arrest Over Military Fatigue Video

KAMPALA – Controversial singer Alien Skin has publicly appealed to the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, just days after he was arrested alongside members of his Fangone Forest group for allegedly misusing military symbols.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the musician addressed Gen. Kainerugaba directly, requesting a tour of Makindye Military Barracks. He also made allegations about a major at the facility.
“Hello CDF @mkainerugaba, I request you get sometime and I take you on a tour around Makindye Barracks,” Alien Skin wrote. “The Major who took advantage of me that day, in his words he was like ‘who is Muhoozi’?? I shouldn’t have done that but the Major is ready to take advantage and torture me again for your sake. The major seems to be extra Gumitte.”
The post, which included the phrase “Kitunulemu Champion wange” (loosely translated as “uncover for me, my champion”), appeared to be a plea for intervention following his recent detention.
Alien Skin, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, was arrested on Friday near Wankulukuku playground in a high-stakes operation involving military police. Videos circulating online showed uniformed officers in a truck surrounding the musician and his associates before taking them away.
The arrest came hours after he had performed at Kitebi Secondary School. Authorities have not issued an official statement, but the detention is widely believed to be linked to a controversial video that surfaced days earlier showing Alien Skin dressed in full military fatigue and conducting a “passing of colours” ceremony with his group’s flag.
The use of military attire and symbols by civilians is a sensitive issue in Uganda. In the past, several supporters of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) have been arrested and charged in military courts for alleged unlawful possession of military attire and participation in activities resembling military drills.
By Sunday evening, it remained unclear whether the singer was still in custody or if the CDF had responded to his public appeal. His post had garnered hundreds of interactions, with supporters urging the military leadership to look into his claims.
